Dan Peick's Memorial - State Fair

Final Update: We are closing this campaign with joy in our hearts. The love that people shared through this campaign and at Dan's memorial service will help Dan's family through these difficult times.
Good news: the bench will be at the MN State Fair this year. Even though we missed the cut-off, the State Fair Foundation was nice enough to allow us to still get the bench. We will be sharing the final location of Dan's bench through FaceBook.
Update: thank you to all who have donated - we are so thankful for your support and prayers. Any additional funds will be donated to the American Heart Association. Dan had six major heart attacks in his life - the first treated with a double bypass when he was 37 years old. The medical industry had made great strides, and subsequent heart attacks were treated with stents. Because of this, Dan was able to live another 27 wonderful years - seeing his daughters and grandchildren grow up. Anything we can do to help other families find health would make Dan very happy.

Dan J. Peick, age 64, of Apple Valley, passed away on July 15, 2017 from cardiac arrest. He loved his family and friends and loved to share his music and interests with everyone around him. Every year, our family has gone to the MN State Fair, generally several times a year. Dan loved seeing the kids and grandkids go on the rides, eating delicious food (fries, steak sandwiches, spaghetti, etc), and going to concerts. When we tired out midday, we always bemoaned the lack of places to sit and talked about how we'd like to fund a bench some day. I'd love to see a bench with Dan's name on it, giving people a respite from the heat of the day, a way to 'take a load off' and be ready to go to the midway and enjoy the evening with all of the lights at the fair. That would make Dan smile.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Patricia Peick. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Brenda; daughters, Kazia (Dustin) Juell and Rebecca Peick; grandchildren, Logan and Holland Juell; siblings, Roberta (Don) Olson, Dianne (Don) Greeman, Janet (Gerry) Och, Catherine (Dwight) Pilon, Tim (Denise) Peick, Jean (Lyle) Stanley, Richard (Tami) Peick, Gerald (Trisha) Peick and Michelle (Ron) Johnson; many nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. A gathering of memories and sharing will be held 6:30 PM Thursday July 20, 2017 at the White Funeral Home Chapel, 14560 Pennock Ave Apple Valley with a gathering of friends and family from 4 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
