Damascus Dog Park

Donation protected
Volunteers in the small mountain town of Damascus, Virginia, would like to build a dog park for the use of local residents and visitors. Although our town’s population is only around 860 we are visited by over 250,000 people a year (pre-Covid). There is no fenced area where dogs can be let off their leashes; and for several years, the need has grown for a place our citizens and visitors can go to safely let their dogs run and play.

The town has made available a beautiful and level area where a large dog park can be built. The area adjoins a creek and backs up to a National Forest. It will be possible to build a series of trails outside of the off-leash and fenced-in area.

We have a team of volunteers including construction experts who will build the dog park including putting up the fencing, benches and a dog agility area with several challenges. The park will be available from sunrise to sunset and will be maintained by the town’s three-person maintenance team and volunteers.

A donation of any amount will be welcomed. You will help us move forward with this volunteer effort, and when the park is built we invite you to come visit, ride or walk or kayak our trails, and please bring your dogs.
