Dale Sandberg

We are sad to inform the Salt Lake City music community has lost a great friend and patron. Dale Sandberg passed away early Saturday morning September 2, 2023.

Dale and and his wife Mary have been fixtures in the music scene along the Wasatch for decades. Countless volunteer hours of dedicated service to help local musicians grow and thrive in a loving and supportive environment is their lasting legacy. Always arriving early to set up chairs, tables, and to make coffee, and staying late after midnight to clean up,

Dale loved to jam with his friends. Whether it was at the Saturday night Jam group, the annual Dam Jam, late night at a music festival, or wherever, playing music was at the core of Dale’s big heart. He was one of the most grateful people you could ever meet.

As we remember Dale, we are faced with the difficult task of saying our goodbyes and providing him with the send-off he deserves. Funeral and end-of-life expenses can be a significant burden for any family, and we would like to support the Sandberg family during this challenging time.

This GoFundMe campaign has been created to help cover the funeral and end-of-life expenses for Dale and to support his wife, Mary. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and ensure that Dale's memory is honored and his wife is supported in the coming months.
