Hi, Some of you may know me as Niki or Nichole, but I am Dale Lackey's daughter. Im starting this GoFundMe in an attempt to help my father and step mother breathe a little easier in the months to come. Most people know my father from his days working at Wintersville Fire, Steubenville ASI , Harrison Community Ems or maybe even the local hospitals. Or even from seeing him on the local news stations for the amazing programs he and his wife started at his ranch to help people. Some of you may have heard a little over year ago Dale had a near death experience with Covid and even the doctors didn’t think he was going to make it. He has been told many times its a miracle he’s where he is today. Even with his miracle they are still struggling to get back to where they were before Covid. So they need everyone’s help today more then ever. With that being said Dale received some devastating news recently as he was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. They will be doing surgery soon in attempt to remove the cancer. He will be down for a minimum of 6 weeks and no lifting for 8 months. Dale and Renee purchased their home just a few years ago and turned it in to their dream … The DLR Mustang Ranch. This ranch is not just their home, but they also open their doors for veterans, first responders and troubled youths, anyone really. People can go to find peace and connect with the animals and learn about mustangs and themselves. In ways they have never imagined. The best part is their programs are free to anyone interested. They have many different animals to fit all and they even assist the local Human society in Fostering farm animals. The ranch is ran by Dale and his Wife Renee along with help from volunteers and family. Their home, programs, and the animals are financially supported by their everyday jobs and donations from outsiders’. Dale will be out of work for quite some time again this time due to his cancer, additionally Renee will need to be at his side a lot to help him through the healing process . So they are in need of financial assistance to stay afloat and to avoid loosing their home that has helped so many others.
