I was recently hospitalized for 19 days from November 11th (my birthday) until November 29th. I was having extreme pain in my abdomen and back which caused me to be unable to work and cancel my birthday week of shows scheduled around town which broke my heart.
At the ER they quickly admitted me and diagnosed me with pneumonia. The admitting doctor didn't believe I had pneumonia and began a series of other tests including one for pancreatitis. Upon receiving the results they found a mass on my spleen, a nodule on my thyroid, a blood infection as well as one in my lung which would later collapse my lower lobe. That next day the doctor came in to notify me that I was Type 2 Diabetic, and they would have to start administering insulin. A couple days later they decided against a biopsy on the mass on my spleen and decided to remove it. On November 16th I had a complete Splenectomy. I was in ICU for 2 days. Complications with a embolisation caused a hematoma in my groin area which I am still dealing with. All the while I've been on antibiotics to rid me of the infection in my blood and lung. Well my lung had built up a barrier around the infection and the only way to get at it was to have a tube put in, so another surgery. I had to wait until they found out if it was going to work or if I have to have lung surgery. After about a week they decided to discharged without surgery. Each day is a struggle as I try to gain my strength back. I'm constantly winded and get shortness of breath frequently. It's gonna take some time but I'm strong.
Unfortunatly I dont have Health Insurance because its unaffordable and the bills are overwhelming.
The Hospital bill is $371,000 for which Im being billed $149,000. In addition individual Doctor bills are still to come. My monthly prescription expense to keep me healthy is through the roof and my ability to work is limited at best. Im trying to be positive so I can get healthy but its very hard as I watch the bills pile up and Im helpless to do anything. Thank you for all your love and concern! Any help you can provide is of immense relief and greatly appreciated by me and my family.
