Hi my name is Daeclan Kerr and I am a transgender man. I've been on hormones since March 2017.
When I first started hormones one of the first things I did was inquire about top surgery. I was misinformed by medical professionals who told me I had to be on hormones over a year before I could apply for surgery. Which is just not true. So after waiting almost a year and a half and finally getting the application process started, I found out I didn't need to wait at all.
So now at almost three years on T I've finally had my consultation only to find out that the portion OHIP covers isn't enough to get me anywhere close to the results I want. The liposuction and contouring that are "optional" and not covered, aren't actually optional. In order to be okay with my chest in the way that I'd hoped, I need to raise $3000.
Binding all day every day is not only uncomfortable but causes me a lot of dysphoria because it's just another reminder that I don't have the body I should. Any help I can get towards my goal is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
