Hello to Everyone! This is Dale's Mom Cindy letting you know I've just been able to switch sole ownership of this site so I could try to let you know what's happening, and try to take care of things, although I will still leave all the original information as written by the family for now. Soon I will be writing more information, changing, and maybe putting some more pictures in. I'm sorry to say much has been delayed. Dale's passing and everything has been overwelming for me to try to take care of things because I've missed him so much!

Dale is missed and loved so much by his family, and many dear and close friends. He was a very wonderful Dad to his daughter Hayley. He will be remembered as a very kind-hearted, caring young man, with a good sense of humor, enjoyed by family and friends, who enjoyed helping others. He loved animals too, and his pet cat Cally remains behind with his family.
Dale was an Ohio State University Honor student and a very devoted fan of the Buckeyes. Even though he was never permitted to play sports because of his heart condition (Marfan Syndrome), he and his friends loved football, and would drive many miles just to watch an Ohio State football game. They even drove clear across the country from Ohio to Arizona to watch the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl game in January 2009!
Dale was majoring in Counseling/Psychology at Ohio State University, working toward earning his PhD when he became seriously ill with complications of Marfan Syndrome. Consequently, he was no longer able to work. Dale was employed as a computer technician supervisor at Comnet, Inc. in Wapakoneta, Ohio for 11 years, where he received many awards for his excellent service to the company. He worked 3rd shift on nights and weekends, and attended the Ohio State University Lima Campus during the day.
Dale had open heart surgery in 2007, from which he recovered, and returned to work. He had another surgery to his shoulder in 2009 after an accident which left him with severe neurological damage and constant pain, could never be repaired, in which he never recovered. Other complications set in over the next 2 years; endocarditis, dural ecstasia, severe migraines and back pain, numbness in his legs, 2 inoperable cysts in his back, and finally a cerebral hemorrhage. During this time, and especially in his last days, he began experiencing seizures and severe reactions to all 12 medications he was taking.
When he became too ill to work, he lost his health and life insurance through his employment, was ineligible for unemployment because he could no longer work due to illness, and had run out of sick leave. Despite the recommendations of doctors, including cardiologists, neurologists, and other specialists, that Dale was completely disabled, unable to work, and his life in danger, Social Security Disability denied him twice within this time.
With no income and a young daughter to support, Dale's immediate family tried to take care of him in every way possible. His Grandma, Joanne, and Mother, Cindy were his "nurses", and his brothers David and Tom helped in many other ways in which they could. David came home from college the last summer of Dale's life to help take care of his brother.
Tom was sleeping in the next bedroom in the basement, and helped Dale upstairs to safety when flooding started (this happened more than once). Dale was very tall and big, so another man was needed to help. Dale's very serious extended illness, which resulted in his passing away November 3, 2011, left the family very devastated financially, emotionally, and very heartbroken with his loss because the family was so close. They have been unable to recover, and still remain in a very low income situation which has greatly worsened due to continuing debts since the onset of Dale's illness nearly 3 years ago. They still need to take care of his final expenses, the funeral home, and a cemetery monument as Dale had a traditional funeral. He was buried next to his great-grandparents whom he loved very much, but passed away when Dale was only a child.
It has been so sad to lose him and also deal with all the financial difficulties too. Any amount you are able to donate, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated by this family.
