Dad of 8 Battling Stage 4 Lymphoma Cancer

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Georgia Bartel. I'm asking for your help for this family Steve and I have known for almost twenty years. They are good friends and lovely people. Any time we've needed help, Ramiro has been there for us. Now, we'd like to be there for him and his family in their time of dire financial need with medical expenses and lost wages. I hope you can find it in your hearts to help them, too. The following is a letter from his wife:
On January 26th, 2024, my best friend, my husband and the father to our 8 children, was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma cancer. Specifically, High Grade B Cell Lymphoma with TDT expressions, a rare form of lymphoma that is very, very aggressive. We were told that had he not seeked medical attention, he would have lived another month or two before passing. Our whole world fell apart... how can that be?! He is still young, he has always been healthy, always active, always working. We have 8 kids, 5 of whom are still young. They NEED their dad, I NEED my husband, we still have our whole lives to live together. We have a daughter who is graduating high school this year, another who will be starting kindergarten and a baby who will be one. Ramiro (Ram) is one of the most loving, kindest, hardworking and cheesiest people I know. He befriends almost anyone he meets. Truly a genuine human being. The kind of husband who takes care of his kids, takes everyone to school and to their activities and even to work, does household chores and even helps to make meals. The type of father/husband I would have loved to have.
My best friend and I have been married for 21 years, going on 22 on March 21st and we still have so, so many more to go.

Some background info on how this all started. Back in early Nov 2023 Ram had started to sweat randomly, mainly at night. He also started to lose some weight, he had been having liver issues prior to this and had to change his diet so naturally we thought that was why he was losing weight. Towards the end of Nov, we decided to drive down to Mexico to visit his mom and sister. The road trip was long and exhausting but we made it to his hometown. We had been in Mexico for about a week, he was doing fine, still having night sweats but then out of nowhere, he started to get headaches and was feeling some pain in his shoulder. We decided to cut our trip short and came straight back home. We had been home for about 5 days when Ram started to feel off. He had gotten up to go to the bathroom but had almost fallen over because he started to feel pain in his lower back, so much pain that he was unable to walk. Our son had to basically carry him out of the house to take him to the ER. Once there, they checked his temperature and discovered that he had a fever and was admitted into the hospital. They did an MRI, CT scan, X-rays and lots and lots of blood work. They were able to determine that he had sepsis but were unable to determine the cause or what type of virus he had. He ended up being in the hospital for about a week, he received lots of antibiotics and was sent home. Christmas came and went, Ram was still losing weight, drenching with sweat every night, still feeling pain in his bones and was now experiencing daily migraines. On New Year's Eve, he started to feel off again, another trip to the ER. This time they did a spinal test and by the end of that week, Jan 5th, he was told he possibly had Leukemia. He was referred to oncology, had more tests done and on Jan 26th, we were told it was a stage 4 Lymphoma.

We were told by family and friends to create this account to help out with his medical costs. If you are able to help, THANK YOU and if not, PLEASE share our story. That is all we can ask for at this time.
If you or someone you know was diagnosed with this specific type of cancer, please share your story with us. It feels so unknown to us and we don't know what the outcome will be. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
