Dace Richardson Hardship

Donation protected
Dace was an offensive lineman for the University of Iowa from 2005-2009. He was one of 5 true freshmen to start in 2005. He was a four-year starter for Iowa, missing the 2008 season due to injury, but finished in 2009 as All-Big Ten, Iowa Football’s comeback player of the year and Orange bowl champion leading Iowa’s offense to 403 yards and the highest ranking of any Kirk Ferentz-coached team.

Dace is a gentle giant, who is loved by all his teammates and has a great connection with everyone he comes in contact with.  Dace has been a peace officer in the State of Iowa for the last two years. He is the proud father of a beautiful 3-year-old girl named Arrow.

Dace was recently diagnosed with Colorectal cancer and in December had 8 inches of his colon removed.  Due to some complications post-surgery, he has had to have another surgery to complete the healing. The diagnosis has been positive, and Dace should make a full recovery.  However, due to the amount of surgeries already and with more to come, he will be unable to work. Without any income, raising his daughter, paying bills and allowing himself the time to truly heal will be difficult.

Please consider helping this proud father, public servant, and Hawkeye in his time of need.

Thank you!
