In need of a heart transplant
Donation protected
On Dec. 2, 2013, Richard Labonte suffered a massive heat attack. Although he was not expected to survive, a triple bypass was done. After 3 days at CMMC, he was transferred to the ICU at Mass General in Boston. ON 12/19/13 an LVAD (left ventricular assist device) was placed in his heart. Its job is to pump the blood, as Richard's heart is unable to do so. It is also a bridge to a heart transplant. After spending 5 months in the hospital, including time in a Rehab hospital, he finally went home. Care is now given to him by home health nurses and his wife Joline, who currently also holds a full time job at CMMC. This account has been created to help the family with medical expenses, medication expenses and continuous visits to doctors in Boston. Richard is on a waiting list for a heart transplant. We hope one is available soon. When that happens, visits to Boston will be on a weekly basis for biopsies. Travel and lodging will also be an added expense for Richard and Joline. Richard has a long road ahead of him. Hopefully with a new heart, he'll get back the energy he needs to do the things he loves to do (hunting, fishing, canoeing). Any donation will help and prayers are always welcomed<3
