2013 my brain, neck and whole spine got injured in a car accident. My car was hit from behind at very high speed. I don't remember anything from the accident, because I got unconscious.
The whole cervical spine got injured with severe damages, as reduced disc heights with prolapsed annulus, compressed nervroots, scoliosis etc. The whole cervical spine is instable. The worst damage is at top of the cervical spine. My head is actually loose. A large degree of movement is seen together with pannus formation surrounding the tip of the odontoid peg. As pannus progresses, it can invade the bone and bone marrow, and destroy surrounding structures like the joint capsule and tendons.
I now I have pressure at my brainstem and my spinal cord. In the future I can get paralyzed or stop breathing.
The doctors I Sweden says they can't do anything about my damages. That I have to keep on living like this. But if I do, I probably want be alive as long as I'm expected to.
My only hope is a neck surgery . I can get that from Dr Gilete at Teknon Hospital, Barcelona. I have been to see him, and he says I'm a good candidate for surgery.
The surgery will cost me 943 870 SEK, plus costs for the travel and the stay after surgery for following care. So totally about 1000 000 SEK.
I am booked for surgery at Teknon Hospital in Barcelona at the 9th of March this 2020. So I really need the money to get this done.
It´s a complicated surgery, but it will save my life and I will see my grandson grow up. That means all to me!
