Help Danny fight leukemia

Donation protected
I met Julie yrs ago at my Super Bowl party, I found out that day her little boy Danny was fighting cancer & was having chemo. We had a football pool going & at the end of the game decided Julie would win the final pool money. She was in shock & said " I didn't contribute" we both started to cry & wasn't a dry eye at my house, we just said we want to help out with Danny. Julie has worked so hard putting herself through nursing school, working & making sure her babies Danny & Moses always came first, so I would like to share her story she emailed me....
Our journey started 4-20-2010 when I noticed my baby had unexplainable bruises all over his body, that night his temp was high & looked pale. I took him to the er at about 8pm. The nurses began to draw blood & started tests. At around 10:30 a nurse came in and explained that his blood level was off& wanted to draw blood again to run the tests over, about 45 min later she came back, only this time her eyes looked red as if she had been crying. She sat me down & told me they need to take him to loma Linda children's hospital because they believed he had leukemia. At that moment my world stopped. I thought it was just a nightmare. We were quickly transported by ambulance to the hospital where they confirmed my baby had stage 3 acute Lymphoblastic leukemia.
The next day he started chemo by IV, spine & by mouth. One of the nurses shaved his head so Danny didn't see his hair everywhere. After months of living in the hospital,3 yrs of chemo, tears, pain & sadness, Danny finished chemo 6-28-2013. He was finally free of needles & pills & being able to live his life as a normal kid.
In 2014 Danny was excited to play sports, start school & live an active life. Everything was perfect & my baby was finally so happy. August 8th, 2014 I noticed bruising again all over him. The same bruises I would never forget from yrs prior. I took Danny to the er to run blood work , in which it came back a bit low, but nothing to drastic to worry about. On Monday August 11th, 2014, I received a call from Danny's nurse saying he had to be admitted to loma Linda right away. The moment I hung up I knew something was wrong & I began to panic. I left work, went home to get Danny & packed a bag for us knowing we wouldn't be back for awhile. While walking out his little brother ran up to Danny hugged him tight & said "see you later brother" they smiled at each other & said goodbye. The next day after various tests & procedures the doctor came in & asked if I could step out of the room, I followed him to the conference room where there were other doctors , nurses & staff. They sat me down& said the words I had been dreading to ever hear..."it's back."
My life now has changed in a matter of minutes. With my sons being older & expecting a baby brother in January it feels like my world is crumbling down. However I have to keep the same smile Danny has & trust in god that we will beat the cancer again. Getting through it the first time was so difficult, being a single parent. This time is so incredibly different, I have the most amazing husband, family & friends that I could ever ask for. We are blessed to have so many people who care & are there to support us on our beginning journey fighting Danny's cancer again. It won't be easy but it's Danny remarkable faith & smile that keeps our family strong....

My eyes are so heavy rewriting this email Julie sent me, Danny will be 6 tomorrow & unfortunately will be spending it in the hospital instead of having a birthday party like most children. If any of my fb family, friends could possibly give up a Starbucks for one day and donate $5 or find some penny's lying around to help Danny would be amazing, they will be left with many unpaid medical expenses that won't be covered & a long road ahead. Hopefully Danny will be home for the holidays. Julie is truly a person that puts others before herself.

Thankyou for reading julies story
