911 Dispatcher In Need.

This GoFundMe has been set up to help one of our own, in a time of great need.
Erin McCarty was a dispatcher with our Communications Center for 17 years. She has been both full-time and part-time. Erin loved her job, and loved her responders, she was one of the most efficient and officer safety oriented dispatchers I have ever known.
Recently Erin started experiencing extreme nueroligical difficulties which became so severe that her abilities to follow Officer radio traffic and requests became severly impaired. Erin made the extremely difficult decision to leave the proffession she loved so dearly behind.
Erin placed the safety of her responders over her need to bring home a paycheck to cover her medical and living expenses. I believe that that is the mark of a truly great dispatcher.

Along with being a co-worker, Erin is a very dear friend of mine. She is a kind, empathetic, hopeful, caring person. She is quite possibly the only person I have seen who, after so many years of service as a 911 dispatcher, did not become hardened or jaded. She was always there to help, any way she could. She had kind words for everyone, and was the first to encourage or help out when one of her co-workers was having a difficult time on the floor.

Since leaving our ECC Erin's health has continued to decline. She searched for a new job ceaselessly, putting in applications at numerous places. She finally found a full time position and was able to start working again, when she had another set back. Erin had a severe reaction, and suffered extreme complications to a treatment that was supposed to help address some of her nuerological issues. She had to be hospitilized and began experiencing new issues. Sadly Erin lost her new job.

This has been going on since October of last year. As I'm sure all of you can imagine, Erin has run into severe financial trouble. With no job, and mounting medical expenses, Erin has run out of money. She no longer has the funds to cover every day expenses, including things like her car payment. If she loses her car that would not only be detrimental to her health, but also to her continued job search.

Erin needs our help! She served her community and her Officers faithfully for so many years, lets show her that she is not forgotten. Lets remind her what it means to be a member of our Public Safety family.
