Heather, a wonderful, thoughtful and caring 27 year old young lady was recently diagnosed with an inoperable malignant brain tumor.
Heather was recently engaged to Wesley who proposed to her last Thanksgiving eve with their wedding date being June 6th, 2015. Heather and Wes relocated from Iowa to North Carolina in April as a result of a job transfer - both excited to start their new life together. Heather's rapidly debilitating symptoms started to appear in June, she was diagnosed in July and started treatments immediately. Since Heather is a previous brain cancer survivor, her treatment options are impacted by the radiation she endured as a child. Something we found out is that the human body can only absorb so much radiation in a lifetime, so Heather will likely need to undergo cutting edge experimental medical treatment to help her once again win a second battle with cancer.
Heather is unable to work and Wes is working as he can between the daily visits to the cancer center at Duke University. His company has been very supportive in allowing him to work from home when he can. Donations will be used to help with medical costs and other living expenses. Heather may end up going to a medical institution in another state for treatment, so travel expenses will also likely become an issue.
In addition to the donations being used to help with medical related costs, this is a young couple who love to do things together such as cook, travel, garden, and just having fun. Heather and Wes are like most other young couples, thinking about the future and making plans Donations would help with the many out of pocket medical costs, providing a life as normal as possible, a joyous wedding, and optimistically making many lasting and loving memories.
