Mike's life

Those of you who know me well know that I have a son who has struggled with disability and has recently been diagnosed with a genetic processing disorder that has lead to kidney failure caused by years of medication etc. He now receives his meds by injection and it has helped tremendously but he recently endured testing for the national kidney donor list and is not eligible because he has an infection that has made his blood toxic. He has a dental infection, in his jaw, that requires surgery, not dentistry. His disability insurance, Medicaid, won't cover what he needs because they consider his problems as dental. The surgery he needs to save his life will be approximately $12,000. This surgery may prevent the need for a kidney transplant because he has one kidney that continues to function adequately. He already has thousands of dollars in debt trying to manage this on his own but can't get further assistance because he "works " too much.
