Maya's Memorial

Donation protected
On behalf of the McFetridge and Rossbach Families, whose lives have been turned upside down from the sudden loss of their beautiful daughter- Maya Noelle McFetridge, we are accepting donations.

Maya was a student at The University of Akron who tragically lost her life at a large gathering on Sunday, September 19th from a random act of gun violence.

Maya was a recent 2021 graduate of Berea-Midpark High School and grew up in the Berea City School District her entire life. She was a gifted and talented artist who loved painting, drawing, and designing tattoos. She was majoring in Art Education at The University of Akron with dreams of becoming an art teacher or art therapist.

She formed numerous friendships through Girl Scouts, BBA softball, and various jobs in the city including: McDonald’s, Berea Rec, and Dunkin’. She was looking forward to starting her new job on campus in the financial aid office, in hopes to help others in need. She was a makeup artist who loved music, thrift shopping, coffee runs, vegetarian food, and her pug “Sue”. Her favorite subjects included Chinese, psychology, anatomy, and of course art.

Maya was a unique individual with a gentle soul who was an inspiration to those around her because of her outgoing personality, sense of humor, kind spirit and dedication to her friends.

We are absolutely heartbroken for all who loved Maya. She had so much life ahead of her and was just getting started on her new path and was determined to reach her goals. Maya always shared her love, spirituality, and gratitude with everyone who crossed her path and was a true beauty inside and out.

Many of you have asked us if there is anything you can do to help Maya’s family right now? At this time, her family would be very appreciative and thankful to receive donations to help pay for funeral and miscellaneous expenses, as well as, setting aside money for future art scholarships in Maya’s name.

Thank you all for caring and your generosity! Please pray for Maya’s family and friends to give them strength, comfort, and peace- and that justice will be served for her. Rest in Peace dear Maya! You will always be in all our hearts and we will love you forever.
