The last 8th of March, my brother Daniel Galileo Alvarez Beltran suffered an accident in Whistler, Canada doing snowboarding. This accident caused him some severe injuries: He broke his clavicule, 4 fractured ribs, lung perforation, broken wrist, pneumonia a splint injury and the most severe a brain injury.

That same day he was transferred to the Vancouver General Hospital. Since that day he has received several procedures and special care: The inserted a monitor called "Bolt" in his brain to measure his Intercraneal Pressure (ICP), his lungs were cleaned, the lung perforation was taken care of and he started recieving some help to breathe, he has been submitted to several CT scans and Ultrasounds to follow up on his brain injury and the pneumonia.

Fortunately aa few difficult weeks and the attention that he received in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)  in Vancouver´s General Hospital his fractures and perfored lung have been taken care off. He also had a traqueostomy done so he could breathe better and help with the flems of the pneumonia.  This procedure helped him inmensly and after being unconscious for 15 days he managed to semi recover consciousness due to his brain injury he is still not 100%.

Unfortunately the delay on the traqueostomy procedure due to the high volume of people that the hospital needs to take care of was something that made him stay longer in the ICU unit elevating the costs of hospitalization to the roof. All together with the nights he spent in ICU and the Burn Trauma High Acuity Unit, his transfer to Mexico, The medicines and attention he has received the bill has gone 200% over what his insurance can cover in abroad.

We really appreciate any help you can give to help us cover his medical expenses abroad and the recovery process that will take place in Mexico City.
