Nikki's Cancer Fundraiser

I have thought long and hard for over a week now to try to find just the right words to express how I feel and what I wanted to say. Instead of thinking about it so much I decided to just go with it and follow my heart.

Most, (if not all), of us know and love Nikki and that bright and contagious smile of hers.  Well about 3 months ago she received some pretty devastating news that she has cervical cancer. This single mother of 2 young boys was diagnosed with cancer not for the first, but the THIRD time. She has remained pretty quiet throughout the past few months, just trying to figure out why and how she will defeat this ugly monster yet once again.

I can only imagine all of the things that must be going through her head, especially after receiving the news and knowing that she had to have surgery that will leave her out of work for 6-8 weeks minimum, and especially having 2 young boys that are both about to start school in about 3 weeks.  

There is no pressure to donate, but as you can imagine the bills will add up for her over the next few months. But I am asking that any and all positive thoughts, vibes and prayers be sent her way. She has remained cautiously optimistic thus far, but as we all can imagine, this is and will be a scary and pretty stressful time for her and her family and her journey has just begun.

So, with all of that being said I hope that we, as her extended/second family, can rally around her and give her all the support that she could ever hope for.
