They call Cindy Rella the Matriarch of Braveness!
The peoples champion
Why?
No matter what stands in her way Cindy fights to achieve her goals, not for the accolades but for her own pride and personal bests.
A humble athlete that is always willing to help others along the way to her success, be it raising money for charity, stopping to help someone in need in a race, or just words of wisdom and encouragement to her competitors when they are struggling with nerves.
Cindy has always believed that its not where but how you finish makes a champion athlete. She embodies this in every sport that she has been involved with over her life.
It hasn’t been an easy ride for this every day athlete. Not coming form an athletic family, sport didn’t come natural to her. She did however inherit a strong will and a high standard work ethic, which has shone through not only in her sports, but her career as well.
This woman story of triumphs, heartaches, injuries, mental health struggles and failure will inspire you that you too can achieve the unthinkable no matter how big or small. Her Sporting and career achievements are an Impressive resume
Over her 23 year career as an athlete no once has she asked for assistance or sponsorship, she has supported herself to 12 international competitions with karate, ironman and now kettlebell sport.
She has even gone as far as selling her house to get to Austria for the Half Ironman World Championships.
She has also been the muscle and noticeable extra on the TV series Wentworth. Putting her strong sporting physique to good use.
At the young age of 45, Cindy has achieved something rare in the sporting arena. Selected to represent Australia in 3 sports. Karate, Half Ironman and now Girevoy (Kettlebell sport). 3 completely different sports.
Cindy will become the first Australian woman to compete in one arm Jerk at the IUKL World Championships in Latvia in October this year. It is the first year women have been allowed to do single and double arm at this level. She will also be lifting in the One arm long cycle.
She is also trying to qualify for the IKMF marathon world championships which will be held in Spain at the end of November.
Girevoy (Kettlebell) sport is a unique cyclical power endurance sport. It combines some technical elements of Olympic weight lifting with aerobic qualities seen in whole body endurance sports such as rowing and cross country skiing. Athletes generally compete in 5 or 10 minute events, half marathon (30 mins), marathons (60 mins) and super marathons (120 minutes)
Cindy needs help this time around to get to Latvia in October (as she doesn’t have a house to sell anymore)
Her new career path wasn’t chosen for the $$ but for happiness of helping others.
Anything you can do to help would be appreciated.
