On August 12th, 2014 my coworker and friend, Shirley Simmons, was traveling to Dallas, TX to meet her ex-husband to pick up her children whom she hadn't seen for two months. They had been staying with their father for the summer so Shirley could not wait to see them! While on her way she received a phone call that would change her life forever.
Her ex-husband, who suffers from a brain tumor, fell asleep at the wheel and hit an 18 wheeler truck head on. Cailey, 6, was uninjured but Immy, 4, suffered traumatic head injury and is in critical condition in the ICU.
Shirley recently bought a new house and we do not want her to have to worry about paying her bills while she is in Texas with her children. We also want to help her with travel expenses and all of the medical bills she will incur due to this horrible accident.
