Cynthia's 2017 Medical Deductible
Dear Penthouse:
I never thought that I'd find myself in this position...
No, I did not. But while reviewing my finances in prep for the end of the year and in regards with next year's tax impacts, I need to pay off my medical payments generated over the past 2 years that my crappy Ambetter insurance has not paid.
As many of you know, I've been ill and I haven't worked since 2014. I also cut up my credit cards and moved to a cash basis. Pro-tip: go to the doctor and be healthy. Care providers will work with you on negotiated pricing and a payment plan, over 24 months.
So from 2016, I have $2000 in medical payments still due. In 2017, I have $1500 in medical payments and so I have not met my $6500 deductible. I arranged for payments for this balance too. That leaves me with $3500 that I owe two different hospitals.
Last week, the GOP rammed through that half-ass Tax Cuts (for the extremely rich) and TRMP, our president for now signed it. It repealed the medical bill deduction, which I rely on to get some of this money back to put back into my savings.
I have 5 days to raise the money in order to take the full deduction this year. So I am appealing to Friends and Family for help. Don't give if you can't afford it. Any amount is welcome. And those people that do donate will receive a special, handmade "thank you" gift after January 1, 2018.
Good News!! My disablility (SSDI ) application was approved and my SS check starts in May, 2018. I will also likely be eligible for Medicare shortly, since they did review medical records going back to 2011, not just 2014 when I became too ill and stopped working! So this is likely to be a one time campaign and will not need to be repeated in the future.
Love to all ~ Cynthia
