The purpose of this page is to raise money to send Team USA to Russia to compete in the MAS Wrestling World Championships! The total amount of money needed to send Team USA to Russia is $10,000, but half of that was generously donated by 6 Pack Fitness bags.
MAS wrestling’s roots can be traced back hundreds of years to the Russian Republic of Sakha. In a country that loves all manner of sport, it gained popularity because it did not require specialized equipment and showcased a young Yakut’s strength, courage, and determination. This sport has maintained its legacy into the 21st century as a true method of testing a combatant’s fortitude and is currently contested in arenas all over the world.
It was introduced to the United States in 2013 by Odd Haugen, President of MAS Wrestling USA, at the Los Angeles Fit Expo as part of his Strongman Combat Challenge. This marked an important moment in the development of the sport nationwide. Shortly thereafter, MAS Wrestling USA was formed with the mission of spreading the enjoyment that this sport carries to as many people as possible.
Fast forward 18 months to today. We're proud to have fielded a team of 6 of the best MAS Wrestlers in the country, all of whom have earned their spot by winning their weight division at the North American Championships in San Jose.
