Multiple Sclerosis Sucks! A lot!

Donation protected
Hi!

My name is Alisa, and I'm pretty freaking awesome.

I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2001, possible rheumatoid arthtitis in 2003, a hormone disorder in 2010, and am in the process of evaluating for either fibromyalgia or a confirmation of rheumatoid arthritis. I also struggle with life-long chronic depression and anxiety, and with post-traumatic stress disorder following a shooting at my workplace in 2012.

I applied for Disability and was denied. Because everybody who applies and doesn't have renal failure or terminal cancer is denied the first time. My lawyers have already filed an appeal, but it can take up to a year to get a hearing.

In the mean time, I need help. I have no income and my savings have all gone into my condo. Due to chronic, constant, severe pain and balance problems and essential tremor and parasthesias, along with congnitive difficulties and PTSD symptoms, I am not able to work to make ends meet. I have stretched my dad's ability to help me to a point where I can't ask for more (he is not in good health, either), so I'm turning to you, my friends.

I need money. I need money so I can pay my health insurance, electric, phone, and condo maintainance bills. I need to buy groceries, medications, toiletries, laundry quarters, household goods, a bus pass, etc... I need to get a haircut at some point. I have a monthly massage membership to deal with the chronic pain in my back. I have a Netflix account for days that I am in too much pain to leave my house and need to distract myself. I use Lyft for days when I'm not in good shape and can't take the bus.

Sure, not all of these are absolute basic necessities, but they are things that significantly improve my quality of life. I hope you, my friends, may have a little bit to spare that you would be willing to share and help me out while I wait for my Disability hearing to happen.

100% of received funds will be used for the above listed living expenses plus discressionary uses I feel would be in the spirit of the purpose of this fund (ie new glasses, emergency plumbing). My tattoos, while crowd-funded, are part of a completely separate account and there will be no overlap whatsoever. I will keep careful track of what's been given and what I spend, and when my disability has been approved I will give any remainder of the fund to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in hopes of helping other people who are not fortunate to have friends as kind and generous as you.

Thank you.
