Saving Sawyer (Medical)

Sawyer Grace Wood was born on July 30th 2014. Sawyer was receiving blood transfusions while still in the womb to battle Parvovirus B19. Unfortunately despite the doctors best efforts to treat the virus for as long as possible inside mom, she was born 3 months premature. (26 weeks, 3 days) Weighing 2.2 lbs. severely anemic and hydropic our little miracle still refused to give up. Baby Sawyer was born at Hollywood Presbytarian Medical center nearly 400 miles from home. We just happened to be in LA to do another scheduled transfusion when our baby girl decided she was coming. She is not yet stable enough to be transferred back to Arizona where her four brothers and sisters anxiously await her arrival. Her biological brother and sister Gavyn and Mylah Wood along with her adopted brother and sister Tristen and Shelby can't wait to smother her with love. Despite having one of the top medical insurance providers, deductibles and copays have stacked up to nearly $7,500. Also having to travel to LA every week and stay 3 to 4 days to be at Sawyer's bed side is taking a financial toll on our family.
