Dean's Post Transplant Needs

Dear Friends,
On May 16th, 2014 our lives changed, we found out Dean is sick-and after alot of tests and after a 10 day stay at the hospital-we he was diagnosed with ESLD (End Stage Liver Disease) caused by a blood disorder-(Hemochromatosis)- he had for years that was just now starting to rear its ugly head, also he was diagnosed with Celiac Disease.
The only cure- is for him to have a liver transplant.
Anyone who knows Dean, and for anyone who doesn't, he is a wonderful, loving, kind man, for 11 years he has been my partner, my rock, HE IS MY BEST FRIEND- and he is the best daddy in the world to Kayleighboo, and he LOVES Duke Basketball, LOVES Nascar, and boy o boy does he LOVE to fish!!!!!
These last few months he hasnt been able to go fishing and I know he wants to!
After getting through all the testing and having to have all his teeth pulled to have a dental clerance
DEAN HAS BEEN LISTED WITH EMORY!!

In the meantime, he has good days and bad days, there is alot of doctor appointments, lots of medications and alot of medical terms to learn, then comes post transplant- with ALOT- LOT more of the above.
We are just at the start of our journey, these last few months have been mentally, emotionally, physically and financially exhausting.
Our faith, our family and our friends -THAT IS- what is keeping us strong.
The purpose of the page is simple- although I have sat here and struggled on what words to use for over an hour. :)
If you would like to donate anything to help us through this- it will be appreciated beyond words.- THAT WAS THE HARDEST LINE TO TYPE!!!
Transplants are life-saving, even with insurance, Dean is facing very high expenses that include co-pays, relocation closer to the hospital during transplant and for several months after for the required follow up labs 3 times a week, as well as having to take a leave of absence from work for both of us. The anti-rejection medication alone can cost as much as $1200 a month.
If anyone has any thoughts for other Fundraising ideas- PLEASE feel free to share....message me- email me- maybe you have a fav restaurant that would donate 10% of a nights total- know a celebrity that would donate something for rafle, a band that would play an event- Bikers-that could help me organize a Ride...
This is just a start-because we have to start somewhere-
I have said I would go ride a roller coaster for 14 days -in the rain- to help raise money....and I seriously would- because Dean is worth it!!!!
Your support will help us with everyday expenses- medical bills that insurance doesnt cover, prescriptions.
When he can't go to work- he simply doesn't get paid.
Most of all friends- we would like your prayers-good thoughts- positive vibes sent our way.
I would also like to take this time to encourage you to become an organ donor!!!!
