This page was created to help Josh and his family cover medical bills incurred through Josh's race against brain cancer.
Josh, was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer just as he was preparing to enter his senior year at Grove City Christian School. After the initial 6 hour surgery at Nationwide Children's Hospital to remove as much of the tumor as possible, Josh went through numerous rounds of chemo and radiation, a bone marrow transplant and many additional surgeries since being diagnosed. Josh was able to finish his senior year and graduate. He was dedicated in his love for Christ and #determined to beat cancer and head to college to prepare for a life in the ministry -- to not only share his story -- but to talk about the grace God has provided him.
Josh's family was already involved in the fight against cancer as his mother also endured cancer throughout the past few years. She recently had a major surgery and there is hope that she is cancer free.
Through this journey -- his family showed each of us FAITH, LOVE, and HOPE! Josh did cross the finish line on July 31st and won the ultimate race -- he received his 1st place finish in Heaven. Josh left a tremendous legacy that will continue through the lives of the students, teachers and so many he touched in his short 18 year life. He was full of love, hugs and jokes.
Last year, I was able to gain tremendous support through this site and through additional donations made for Josh and his family. I started this campaign again once Marathon training commenced in the hopes to continue supporting Josh and his family through the fight of his life. Josh never quit his race and endured so much to cross that finish line. I am going to do the same thing and run as strong of campaign and race to gain funds to further help his family. "And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us..." Hebrews 12:1.
I ask that you join us by supporting this cause and our running efforts -- ALL to the benefit Josh's family. ALL $ raised goes directly to the Dick family to address Josh's expenses. Last year, we were able to raise $4000 with this page and additional donations secured. This year, I would like to raise at least $5000 if not more.
Money is extremely beneficial to this family who has many cancer bills and expenses resulting from both Josh and his mother's experience. So join the team and let's #runforjosh!
