My best friend Amber has intervertebral disc disease that is causing a disc to rupture and compress her spinal cord, quickly causing her to become paralysed. She needs immediate surgery to reduce the pressure on her spinal cord to help her walk again and get back to the happy, playful, loving and incredible dog she is.
She has been my rock in the darkest of times and my best friend in the happiest of times, she is my everything.
I am also a current university student studying Animal and Veterinary Biosciences, but have had to defer this year to become a full time carer for my elderly grandmother who has Alzheimer’s disease. This is making it extremely difficult for me to get the funds together in time to save her.
It would mean the absolute world to Amber and I if you could find it in your heart to donate anything and help save her life.
The surgery and rehab will be around $7000 dollars and I don’t know what else to do at this point because without the surgery she will become fully paralysed in her back legs.

UPDATE: Amber has had her spinal surgery to remove the calcified disc that was causing her to become paralysed. She is now on the long road to recovery and is in rehabilitation to learn to walk and use her back end again. This is an ongoing process and expense. All your ongoing support has been so greatly appreciated by amber and I and we will never be able to thank you enough. If you could find it in your heart to continue to donate that would help ease the financial pressure her rehabilitation is putting on me after her already very expense spinal surgery and journey thus far. What was originally supposed to be $7000 is now pushing $10000 with the constant care, vet visits and rehabilitation required.
