CSU's Phantom of the Opera Live! by Ken Hill

Hello, my name is Zak Tahsin, a senior acting and directing film student at Cleveland State University. Film and theater are a huge part of my life and have been since I was small. That being said, I knew I wanted my thesis project to incorporate both theater and film and be different from any other projects being made in my area. I got together with a team of other like-minded friends and we came up with the idea for our project: Phantom Live!.

Phantom Live! is a student-led, student-conceived live theater project serving as the final thesis project for students from the Cleveland States film, theater, and music programs. This production is a full revival of the 1976 musical version of The Phantom of the Opera written by Ken Hill. Phantom will perform live for one night only but this performance will be filmed using our live multi-cam setup and will stream for a full weekend live on CSU’s website to anyone who wishes to view it.

We have been given permission from Ken Hill the author's estate to do this production and they are charging a fair fee to make it happen. Not only will this be a final project for many students on their own, but it will also create an opportunity for students to collaborate and build bridges between programs, which could be an extremely useful resource. This project will bring together a collaborative and artistic group of over 30 creators from all across the Cleveland state community to bring this production to life and donating is a way for you to be a part of it as well.

In donating to this project, you are helping us to pay for: Food and water for cast and crew, Royalty fees, Set construction materials, Artistic Materials, Costume Creation, and Rental fees. Some incentives we have to donate are:
