A Fresh Start for Mom

After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2002 and facing many years of challenges associated with this autoimmune disease, Pam moved from Manassas, Va to a MS support house in New Jersey in 2012. Shortly after the move her condition began to rapidly decline and suffered an injury to her hip from a fall, forcing her into a long term rehabilitation facility. She never fully recovered. Since then she has been faced with one medical hardship after another. Most recently, a sepsis infection, pneumonia, and now with the inability to swallow/eat foods, she will need a PEG Tube implanted.  As you can imagine this is a major change for anyone to experience and the support of friends and family can make it just that much easier to go through.

With everyone's support we were able to raise enough money to pay for the transportation costs to bring my mother back to Va! Being at a new facility, with new physicians and caregivers, who have access to the latest medical treatments for her conditions, provides a fresh start. We will continue to raise money for medical expenses(Dr visits, medications, etc) until we can get her covered under Va Medicaid, which can take upwards of 6 weeks to get approved. So a HUGE thanks to everyone who contributed and spread the word about our cause and we ask that you continue to share and be a part of making an difference in someone's life for the better.
