Hello family and friends,
Many of you are aware that my first-born daughter, Tiera Horsey, went home to be with the Lord 8/1/16 at the young age of 23. Although her life was short and sweet, the impact she left on the many lives she encountered was unforgettable.Tiera was a brilliant young lady with goals that surpassed women far beyond her age. Even as a child, she broke age barriers with her exceptional skills and knowledge.
Tiera graduated from Little Flower High School for Girls and attended the Fox School of Business at Temple University. While attending college as a full-timestudent, Tiera was offered a position at the Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW), and in a year was promoted to Senior Specialist. She was the youngest person in the company to hold this title! In addition, Tiera was on track to graduate from Temple University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business May 2017 although she may not have had the opportunity to do so, her commitment and motivation to reach her educational goals is a testimony of how she lived her life, and serves as the driving force for establishing Crowns4Tiera to continue Tiera’s legacy.
Crowns4Tiera is launching it’s second scholarship fund that will afford urban young women the opportunity to reach their potential by assisting with higher education costs.I propose a scholarship of $5000 to be awarded to ten young women in increments of $500 each on August 4, 2018.
Crowns4Tiera has established a GoFundMe account on behalf of Tiera. This offers the opportunity for all those that love her and others who are inspired by her story to help us reach our $5000 goal. Please help us pay it forward and ensure scholarships in honor of Tiera Horsey so that other young women will have the chance to further their higher education.
No donation is too big or too small, and would be greatly appreciated. I would be extremely grateful that some young women will reap the benefits of Tiera's life legacy. Let us allow other young women to wear their crown of “excellence”. Help spread the word and even if you cannot donate, please share this post!
