Cristo Rey Charleston "Now More Than Ever"

Across the country, schools are failing our young people with few solutions to close the gap and prepare all students for college.  Today, we are raising money to sustain the important work we are conducting to bring a Cristo Rey High School to Charleston, SC.  The COVID-19 pandemic has severely limited our fundraising efforts and we need your help. The time is now. Cristo Rey means "Christ the King".  This school will bring light, truth and hope in the future to those who need it most. 

The Cristo Rey Charleston high school will be a “School that Works” where students participate in a rigorous academic curriculum while they earn half the cost of their education working in corporate work-study placements. This model allows our students, with limited economic resources, to participate in college-preparatory education in the Catholic tradition, while learning a strong work ethic and gaining valuable professional experience for their future careers and their aspirations for a lifetime of success.

Without intentional investments in people and communities in poverty, and the organizations that work to address the removal of systemic barriers, real change will be out of reach.

 Cristo Rey Charleston High School, Inc. has applied for tax-exempt status as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and once obtained, an official tax receipt letter will be mailed to you for your records.  In the interim, you will receive a letter of thanks for your pledge memorializing receipt of your gift(s).
