Hi Everyone, I am Cassandra and I have set up this Go Fund Me for Cristine Burnett. We have been wonderful friends for 10 years now. Cristine has no family contacts and Bobbi (Robert Reynolds who is currently mentally disabled with Cristine being the guardian of his Social security checks) is her longtime boyfriend. The funds from this campaign that have been raised are contigent to Cristines outcome. There will be wheel chair expenses, medical bills, dental bills, ramps for her home etc...providing her survival. I contacted the state today and if she doesnt survive, the funds will go to insuring that Bobbi is financially caught up in rent and other important bills to continue living in their home. If this is the case, the money will be turned over most likely to the new guardian of Bobbi's money set forth by the state. Here is Cristine's story...
Cristine Burnett is a longtime and original member of the most wonderful Tgirl group in the country. The Rose City Tgirls from Portland, OR. She has been not only an inspiration to all Tgirls in our community but she has been instrumental in the growth of our Tgirl community in this city.
On Wed, Jan 18th Cristine had stomach pains and was ambulanced to Adventist Hospital in Portland, OR where she underwent life saving surgery. During surgery her heart stopped at one point and her body went into shock. Since she had a previous heart attack and lung disease, she was immediately put into ICU and on full life support system as her hearts and lungs were too weak to support themselves.
Day one was unimaginable for all of us as we came so close to losing her. The doctors and hospital did a wonderful job saving her life. It has been 13 days now and she is still on life support with multiple complications still ahead of her.
Needless to say, there are going to be incredible expenses that follow for both her and her boyfriend Bobbi. Regardless of the outcome, good, bad or ugly your donation no matter how small, can and will make a difference in their lives.
Cristines life with us has been dedicated to the GLBT community and this is the one time we are truly asking for you to reach out and offer any support you can give. Any amount will be put to proper use for hardships caused from this episode.
