Cristian's Journey

Hi, we are the Pollards and we are fundraising for Cristian Plata and his amazing family. The Platas are an amazing family who are constantly helping and supporting others. Aldo has worked with Chris for over 10 years at Duke as an Athletic Trainer, and his wife Fabiola and two precious children (Daniela and Cristian) are mainstays in the Duke baseball community.

The Platas now need our help, because their young son Cristian was recently diagnosed with B-Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. After noticing a small bump on Cristian's head, the Platas took him to doctors who removed it and tested it. The cancer diagnosis was obviously a shock to all, and their journey is just beginning. They are grateful for the doctors at Duke who have already begun treatment, and Cristian is being so tough and remaining his sweet positive self.

We are hoping to raise funds to help with all of the expenses that will come in the weeks ahead. Fabiola will lose income from her job, the family will be spending countless hours at the hospital, and medical bills will be high. All funds raised will go directly to the Platas to help alleviate financial burdens so that they can all focus on taking care of Cristian.
