Cremation and Last Expenses for my Father

UPDATE 2/21/2023: I greatly appreciate everyone's support. It means the world to me. But I've come to update this campaign because I've been hit with another fee. It's the medical examiner's fee. I've updated the goal to accommodate the money I need for this fee. I was not expecting this fee, as it was not disclosed to me when I filed for the cremation originally. I suppose it makes sense that the medical examiners have a fee as well, but no one told me about it so I didn't budget for it. The funds from the original amount raised have been used already, in various different ways that I would be happy to disclose if you want to know.

Hello everyone. My name is Orion, but many of you know me as KZ or Kozray.

My father passed away on 12/21/2022, an abrupt shock that has rocked me to my core and has left me facing many difficult decisions in the coming days. I am an only child, my dad was divorced, and my mom passed away in 2011. I'm left alone in the world, except for the friends and found family I have made and kept largely online.

It is with a heavy heart that I come to make this GoFundMe, but I fear without it I'll be left floundering. I have no money to my name, and I do get paid at the beginning of January, however, even with my monthly income, this expense is too much to bear. I have no credit cards to fall back on.

The amount I am asking for is to cover cremation (around $900), an urn ($100-200), and expenses such as renting a U-Haul truck to move things out of his apartment, as well as maintaining his storage unit ($250/month) until I can liquidate the assets inside.

I am disabled and will be relying heavily on my friends to do much of this labor for me, and would like to be able to compensate them for their time as well. I also have other expenses coming such as my cell phone bill, which was a family plan under my dad's name, which I will have to transition into a single plan under my name, getting copies of the death certificate, transportation to and from places I need to physically be at via Uber, etc.
