In Honour of Tommy Denney
I am starting this Go Fund Me in honour of the only man I have ever called “dad" and my daughters “papa". We would like to have him cremated and a Celebration of Life. As you may have heard on the news Tommy had passed away early Thursday morning from his stab wound injuries and this whole thing has been a nightmare and tragic.
Tommy was homeless for many years and has slept on vents out in the cold and in shelters but was still full of life. He doesn’t deserve to be just forgotten about and needs to be at peace and laid to rest by me and his grandchildren. I will also do a Celebration of life for those that knew Tommy, friends, people who would like to show support and the handful of family he has. Most important Jayla his granddaughter needs this as closure and know that no matter what lifestyle he chose everyone deserves a proper goodbye.
Tommy had no life insurance, no money in bank accounts or anything that could help towards a cremation or celebration of life. I am a single mother of two daughters and due to my motorcycle accident I have been out of work, so I am turning to anyone who might find this article.
Tommy's lifestyle does not and should not define him. He was still a human and deserves a proper and humanitarian goodbye. Not just to be left at the morgue and forgotten about. Tommy was someone that made people laugh whether you were a friend or a complete stranger and was well known to many people downtown Toronto. Some people knew him by his name and some just by his face. He may not have a lot to give but one thing I remember the most is he gave his time at shelters and the church to eithier clean or help with serving food.
So please help in laying his body to rest and let him go in peace after his tragic death!
