Peace be upon you!
We have good news for you! Have you heard about the Kumsa Boro Bible School ? This school was founded in a good spirit in 2018 under the Bethel Dambi Dollo Church. It has since graduated three rounds of evangelists.
The sown seeds have sprouted. And the school has expanded and is transitioning into building its own home. In this wonderful time of growth, we are invited as Bethel’s children and friends of Bethel to stand with them and offer our support.
To support the blessed initiative of these inspirational church elders who started this work and brought it this far, Kumsaa Boroo’s family have come together to coordinate diaspora support. Please let us hold hands and stand with these dynamic people of God.
But where did the idea of this school come from? What about the work? Where did it start, how far has it come? And where is it heading? Let us look at this briefly.
The need to expand Gospel work was discussed at the 75th anniversary celebration of the Bethel Dambi Dollo Church. Producing capable evangelists who have the passion and calling for Gospel work was deemed a paramount importance for this work. Therefore, it was decided to start a bible school to train such inspired and inspiring evangelists.
Based on this decision, the concerned body received permission from the Western Wellaga Synod, and the Bethel Church founded its own bible school for the first time in December 2018.
The next stage in the process was naming the school. After examining the history of the Bethel Dambi Dollo Church and those who contributed to its birth and growth, it was decided to name the school as the Kumsa Boro Bible School, and the Synod approved it.
Since it was founded, this school has graduated three batches of evangelists, not including the ones now in training. However, because this school is within the Bethel Dambi Dollo Church, it encountered several challenges, including availability of classrooms.
To overcome these challenges, the church decided that the school must have a campus of its own and purchased a piece of land for this purpose.
Currently, the students and employees of the school are planning fundraising activities to build their new school on the purchased land. They are preparing to engage in various activities starting from shining shoes to organizing conferences.
While their plan is to start their own fundraising at the end of January 2022, they have also sent an invitation letter to Bethel’s children and friends of Bethel scattered around the world to join them in this blessed fundraising initiative.
We respectfully invite you to read their inspiring message and support their blessed work in everything you can.
To facilitate this fundraising effort, we have organized a series of events. First, we have created this private GoFundMe page.
The second event is remembering and understanding the legacy of why the school is named as the Kumsa Boro Bible School. Here we remember and celebrate the role Kumsa Boro played in the founding and growth of the Dambi Dollo Bethel Church. We host this event in two ways.
One, we have organized a zoom gathering on March 12, 2022, in the afternoon 1:00 – 3:00 pm
(Eastern Standard Time North America and Canada). Please come, let us remember and celebrate together.
Two, we have created a Facebook page to preserve the memory of Kumsa Boro and pass his legacy to future generations. Please follow this link and come, let us create this legacy together:
