Hi all.
I am Patrick Stewart, the owner of Cracker P’s Bar & Grill on Lubbers Quarters in Abaco, Bahamas.
This photo is our Hurricane Dorian aftermath. We have a building but that’s about it.
We just celebrated our 20 th year open and were so proud.
I am gonna make this short and simple.
We sure could use some help. Dorian has broken us, but we will not be beaten.
Our new prep kitchen is gone. Almost all windows blown out. Our gift shop windows are blown out too. Appliances damaged. Dock mostly gone. We will have to purchase all new appliances, fans, electronics, etc.
We also have to rebuild the dock. We received an estimate to rebuild the dock last year and it was at $100,000. So, our expenses will be higher than the $100,000 we are trying to raise.
Our staff are now unemployed. We want to give them a portion of the funds to help them. (20% after expenses). We first decided to do this because we wanted to help our staff.
However, we decided to put our ego aside and admit we could really use some help to restore Cracker P’s, if it is meant to be.
We have to admit it is tempting to walk away, but we feel, if we re- open, when able , that it could provide a beacon of hope to the community as a whole.
