Medical Care for Lana del Bueno

I was shocked last week when my little girl Lana fell ill on a weekend away with friends and family, she suddenly went completely limp in her back legs. For those of you who know Lana she has always been a feisty girl on the go and when i saw her completely deteriorate in front of my eyes i was heart broken to think she would never be the same. I could only hope and pray that i was wrong.
After being admitted to UC Davis Veterinary Medical Hospital, Lana's results from an MRI and spinal tap revealed the cause of her illness. Lana has a primary inflammatory disease of her central nervous system called Granulomatous Meningoencephalitis (GME). GME is an immune-mediated disease most commonly seen in middle-aged female small breed dogs like Lana. Causing compression on her spinal chord, the inflammation led to her inability to use her hind legs.

Lana is a bright eyed energetic little chihuahua who is known for her sassy nature and abundance of love. I simply cannot cover all of her medical bills at this time nor do i know what treatment will be needed moving forward. Donating to Lana's medical fund will help cover the cost of her recent treatment and stay at UC Davis along with medication and future check ups. Luckily Lana was able to recieve the best treatment and care possible and her future looks promising regarding the use of her hind legs. Although she is experiencing side effects from her medication the twinkle in her eye is shining bright.
