Border Crossing Trip

Dear Friends and Family:-)
I am steadily approaching my goal of completing my Master of Divinity Degree at Andover Newton Theological Graduate School in Newton Centre, Massachusetts this coming May 2015. It has been amazing, challenging, difficult at times, and clear preparation for this vocational shift in my life.  When I made the decision to attend Seminary at Andover Newton it had been a 3 year process. I was granted entrance into the the MA in Theological Studies with a concentration in Pastoral Care.  The journey felt so natural to me.  The transition from 21 years as a dancer/performing artist/and teacher would be lost I thought.  I trusted though that my new education and learning would inform my interests in wellness and how spirituality and consciousness can help anchor us as we engage in becoming better selves as learn to be in community.

As I completed my second year, much has changed.  As I discerned the possibilities of my call and imagined what my ministry would look like, I've made some shifts....I was admitted as a transfer into the Master of Divinity program and am excitedly entering my third year where I will begin my field education at Dana Farber Cancer Institute as and Intern in the Hospital Chaplaincy Program.
there was this feelikng that I wasn't finished - with my learning.
theological training is a new language and it pushes me every day to flex my academic muscles! I like that:-)

A requirement to complete my Master of Divintiy is to spend 2 weeks crossing a border where I along with fellow classmates become acquainted with new and different religious traditions broadening my/our "commitment to live one's faith through engaging with vital issues for the church and the world." (Andover Newton Border Crossing Curriculum)

I have applied for the Border Crossing Experience to Myanmar: "Walking the Path of Non-Violence in Myanmar: Buddhist and Christian Approaches."

I need to raise $4000 that will cover my airfare and lodging for the 2 weeks in Myanmar. I believe this experience will be life changing for me. I am grateful and humbled for any donations that each of you might be able to give towards this last part of my graduate education! Peace and Blessings to each of you!!!!
