Cow Shelter and Fencing at Prabhupada Village

Rising Moon Farm, situated at Prabhupada Village  in  Sandy  Ridge,  NC  is a non-profit, tax exempt,  501c3 corporation, tax ID 85-1232164. The rising moon is a symbol for Lord Caitainya, Who, along with Lord Nityananda, is worshiped daily in our temple (the Temple of the Holy Name). 

Five years ago the  temple  acquired two beautiful, young Gir (Indian) cows, Ganga and Jamuna. They were donated by the late Dwarkadish das from Los Angeles (originally from Gujarat, India). He was an avid promoter of cow protection, travelling and inspiring audiences and individuals far and wide to appreciate the great value of the cow and bull in human society. 

Our goal is to erect a new shelter for Ganga and Jamuna next to the temple where devotees can provide the best possible care and protection and where visitors can have the spiritual benefit of seeing them whenever they visit the temple.  In addition to constructing a shelter, approximately four acres of green pasture will be fenced in to provide sufficient area for grazing. 

Official donation receipts will be issued to any and all who request them.
