COVID-19 Relief to low income women & families

Tax deductible

Want to join me in supporting a good cause?  This #Giving Tuesday I’m raising money for Women United for Economic Empowerment Inc and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $10, $20, $50, $100 or $500.  Every little bit helps.  And on Giving Tuesday December 1, Facebook will match $7 million in qualifying donations.  Thank you for your support.

Women United for Economic Empowerment (WUEE) is a 501 (C) 3 organization that work with less privileged women, young girls and children to achieve economic self-sufficiency. We provide various services for women and families in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria in anticipation to eradicate poverty in the year 2030.   However, the year 2020 has been a difficult year, especially for many women and children living in poverty in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria where we work.  With our support, the women were engaged in small businesses, subsistence farming, etc. to survive and to support their families but due to COVID-19, they were forced to close for an extended period of time which impacted their livelihood; and children were out of in-person schooling and required remote learning situation.  For the less privileged, COVID-19 made existing challenges to survival and obtaining education even greater.

Your donation will help to ensure that daily survival level for low income women are maintained for them and their children.  It will also provide some laptops and tablets to young girls in very poor rural areas to enable them to continue their education remotely. Projects include delivering tablets to students, giving WIFI/Data air time to enable online remote learning, provide PPE items (i.e. Masked, gloves, hand soaps and hand sanitizers) and provide financial support for parents at home to supplement loss of income experienced from not being able to carry on their petty business during COVID-19 short down.

Can you make a small donation today towards our vital work?  Thank you.
