We at Fraunces Tavern Restaurant, are heartbroken that we have been forced to temporarily halt operations and close our doors to our loyal patrons, tourists, and staff in hopes to remain safe and contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Our historic tavern, originally built in 1719, has prevailed through many instances of turmoil in the last 300 years of American history.. We are confident that with the help of our strong, united, New York community, we will overcome this heart wrenching period and will be able to continue Fraunces Tavern’s legacy & operations in due time. However, under these unprecedented circumstances, we are uncertain exactly when that time will come.
We have created this GoFundMe page in best efforts to support our 76 staff members—the heart and soul of our organization, in every possible capacity. We are campaigning our loyal customers, venders, friends, family and community to kindly donate whatever they can in efforts to supplement and offset the loss of wages to each critical member of our team. 100% of all donations earned will go directly to the staff and their families in hopes we can offer them any bit of assistance during such a trying time.
We cannot thank you enough for your continued love and support for our building, mission, and work-family. We eagerly look forward to re-opening our doors and welcoming back our friends, family and loyal customers stronger than ever before.
