COVID Relief Fund for Leslie (Rueckheim) DeGroodt

Leslie (Becky) is VERY sick with COVID. A lifelong Chatham resident, a mother, a grandmother, a friend AND A NURSE - and we need to send some relief to aid in
her recovery which we PRAY will happen very soon. Leslie posted last night on
her FB page how horrible this virus is and generally being a private person, it was very hard as her friend to read her words. 

She wrote:

"Hello, my friends...now this something I've never, ever done before but then I've never felt to incredibly desperate like this either. Many or all of you may not realize that I'm covid positive. Day 12 of high fevers, nausea, shortness of breath and the list goes on. 3 trips to hospital since Sunday with each time being sent home and keep hydrated. I'm really ill and at the end of my rope. My hope is that maybe if enough friends can apply healing and positive thoughts my way, maybe I can wake up in the morning and feel better. This stuff is serious and terrifying. I would so much appreciate any, ANY help I can get. And please take care of all yourselves and your families. Don't let this in!"

Leslie is employed as an LPN at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Home & Rehab
Center just over the border in MA. She and her colleagues have been working
through this pandemic and up until just recently, have not had to battle the crisis
in their facility. Sadly, the virus found its way in and as of December 10th:
31 residents have died, 75%  of the residents are infected and 76 staff members
are also positive - Leslie being one of them. 

Please consider donating so that when she begins to recover there will be a
cushion for her to rely on if needed. Thank you all so much!
