COVID Appraiser Assistance Fund
Donation protected
In the early weeks of the Pandemic, real estate appraisers were designated as “essential workers." Some protection for themselves and borrowers were provided by the temporary guidelines from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. However, most appraisers continued providing appraisals with interior inspections. Now, as the Pandemic rages, many appraisers are stricken by COVID, others are quarantined and some, because of age or pre-existing conditions, limit their practice to non-contact work. Our current estimate is that approximately 25-35% of appraisers have had work interrupted by the pandemic.
Delays or interruptions in work can have devastating impacts on the economic well-being of appraisers and their families. To help ease the burden of these issue, TrUnion is setting up a COVID Appraiser Assistance Fund. We will donate $1 per appraisal assignment through the end of February to the fund. Any client, appraiser or individual may donate as they see fit. Every donation makes a difference in helping assist appraisers around the country.
