To our Toronto Community, friends, and family,
Green Papaya, a local Pan Asian & Brazilian family-run business is in need of your support. This is a tough message to write, as crowdfunding is something we never thought of doing. It's uncomfortable for us, as we would much rather trade your hard-earned cash for a delicious meal in return. However, with the current situation at hand, our business is heavily feeling the impacts of COVID-19.
While we were well equipped to transition to an only take-out and delivery platform, our daily sales have and are continuing to drastically drop. The biggest challenge we're facing right now is coming up with a solution to cover our overhead costs for the next month or more. While the government is planning to roll out the Canada Emergency Business Account to provide interest-free loans, it is still not in our best interest as we don't want to take on more debt as an independent family-run business. This has led us to first reach out to you, our community.
We're unsure when restaurants can open their doors to the public and this may last into the summer. While we remain open for this period of time, it is still not enough to survive. We need your help to weather this storm. We understand that this is a difficult time for many as well, so any small amount is deeply appreciated.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone that has visited and supported Green Papaya. We wish to continue serving our local community with delicious Pan Asian & Brazilian meals!
