Our family is struggling financially due to the following events.:
Anthony, my husband has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Severe Prostate Cancer which has also spread to outside areas as well. He has been on disability since 2012 due to Polymyalgia Rheutmatica which has lead to the early stages of Bone Cancer as well. Due to the fact that Anthony was self-employed, his disability benefits are very low. Unfortunately, his latest diagnosis and condition requires him to undergo prostate surgery on April 30th at Upstate Medical.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have acquired permanent custody of 2 grandchildren (a 4 year old girl & a 13 year old boy). This has led to some additional financial struggle for the past two years as we have tried to provide them with the good life they deserve. We do not regret a minute of this though. They are doing so much better now than when they first came to us. No matter what, we will take care of them forever. We love all our grandchildren very much.
In addition to my husband’s conditions, I have unfortunately also been placed on disability (after working at the bank for 38 years) due to Lung Disease with Severe Asthma. Thankfully, they put me on COBRA, but like many others, it does not cover as much as we need. The medical bills have become increasingly overwhelming and are
already more than we are able to deal with.
We know that this is not the end of the road, and are very thankful for any help that we can get. We appreciate it more than you know. God Bless You All!
