Couple loses 6 dogs, house, and business to fire

On Saturday, December 19th, my Aunt and Uncle lost their home, business, and 6 dogs to fire in Hartland, VT.
While cooking breakfast Sunday morning, I received a message from my mother: "Marl & Steve's house burned down yesterday. They lost the house and all 6 dogs."
Fortunately, my Aunt and Uncle were not home at the time. They were in Windsor making Christmas cookies with their granddaughters.
In the Valley News article about the fire , Hartland Fire Chief John Sanders said the roof collapsed early on and the home was deemed a total loss. A steep driveway and temperatures in the teens complicated the effort, which was joined by the Windsor, West Windsor, Woodstock and Hartford fire departments.
In addition to losing their house and business 5 days before Christmas, my Aunt and Uncle lost their dogs - three German shepherds and three hounds whom my Aunt and Uncle rescued over the years - their furry family, their heart dogs.
In an update today (12/21) from my Aunt on Facebook, she said "the Red Cross has helped us with a room at a local hotel for 2-3 nights to give us time to work through the process with insurance and our bank that holds our mortgage."
"Our loves, our home, my job.....all gone in an instant. The one thing that never leaves is the love of family and friends and for that we are so immensely grateful," said my Aunt.

This fundraiser is to help raise some funds to assist my Aunt and Uncle with getting back on their feet, purchasing food, clothes, and other items they need to start their lives moving forward again.
At this time, we are unsure of specific items they need. I will keep this GoFundMe campaign updated.
