Corsham Crafty Hub - Social community project
Having spent the past few years working with elderly and disabled adults, it has become apparent that there is a shortage of opportunities for those who are lonely or are limited by certain factors in their lives such as disability, stress, depression or mental health concerns.
We have set up Corsham Crafty Hub, a non-profit organisation, to provide a space to do some art / crafting for anyone who would like to get out and try something new, or use skills they already have.
We run workshops for a variety of crafts such as knitting, crochet, memory canvases, cross stitch etc, as well as drop in sessions for anyone to come along and try something new.
The drop in sessions and in-house workshops are free / by voluntary donation, in order to make sure no-one is excluded from this opportunity. We also have local crafters running more in depth workshops which are charged for.
We are also collaborating with local schools / colleges where young adults with learning disabilities might not otherwise get an opportunity for work experience, to offer a chance to work at the Hub and learn some social, practical and crafting skills.
We need funding in order to continue to provide this service free of charge to the local community. All funds raised go solely towards costs of running the Hub.
