Correct Jacob's Malformed Heart
Donation protected
Jacob has a beautiful heart that is currently being squished by his chest wall. We are blessed to have unexpectedly discovered the problem in time to surgically reconstruct his chest. Because he is still growing and his bones are still forming, doctors can insert metal bars that will push his chest off of his heart and lungs without permanent damage (we hope). We have found a Pectas Center with multiple procedurally specific experienced pediatric cardio-thoracic surgeons and the most experienced doctor is willing to take his case. The challenge is that we must travel 1500 miles from home and stay from 12 to 14 days. Our medical insurance will cover some of the expense, but we do not have enough "rainy day" funds to cover deductibles, out of pocket costs, travel, lodging, and food. We are waiting on the final word for a surgery date, but are anticipating sometime in July 2017. Please help us give our son the best possible opportunity to be and remain healthy. Thank you for reading our story. Have a blessed day.
