Confirmed corona virus cases in the United States has reached 100,000 and the US has become the epicenter of the global pandemic, overtaking China and Italy.
Analysts say this is just the beginning.
I’m starting now the Pay My Pills Fund with the hope that we will be able to help people who are temporarily not able to pay their medication because of the global corona virus crisis and will be not eligible for any federal support.
Frederick Joseph has organized a fundraiser for people affected by corona virus who are not able to pay their rent anymore. He is a well-known person and became very successful in helping those who are in need now. I am not, and I'm trying it for the very first time but he inspired me and I hope I can help people who are in need to pay their medication. Please help me with my fundraiser.
The ideal goal would be to reach $100,000 in donations and be able to help at least 1,000 people who are in desperate and urgent need of medication with a one time emergency grant.
But maybe we can at least make $10,000 and help 100 people.
Each grant will be $100 per person.
If you pay as much as $30 a month for your pills and each dollar counts now, maybe the $100 will save you for the next 3 months. If you don’t have any insurance anymore or know somebody who never had any health insurance and may be in desperate need for any amount , let us know especially if they are not eligible for any federal help.
And this may be the case for many of us very soon.
I always believed Americans are very friendly and supportive and helpful people. Please help when we need it more than ever. USA may be the richest country in the world but there are millions who live paycheck to paycheck and millions who never had a health insurance. Very soon there will be no paycheck at all. My project here may be just a very little something in the devastating pandemic crisis but if I don’t make it till the end of the year I would be still proud that I tried to help some people.
USA is a very rich country and there is a huge support program on the way but still there will be many people left without any help because their immigration status has not cleared or because they work for very little money and are not able to pay taxes and social security. Some of them may need help just now, till the federal programs work.
This is designed for people like I was before having any health insurance or for people who are still waiting for the green card and are not eligible for anything or people who just temporarily have completely no income. I am still one of those lucky ones and I want to help as long as I can.
I am not a very technical guy, so every support to “spread the word” and any help will be highly appreciated. You can donate as little as $1 and as much as you think is necessary.
HOW TO GET A GRANT:
1. Send a short email with your contact info to [email redacted]
2. Describe briefly why your situation is an emergency
3. Attach a picture of your pills
4. Send the link to your cash app or your bank account information
Please be considerate and use the grant only if you are in desperate need for medication saving your life or keeping you healthy. No recreational drugs or vitamins or other products. Don't apply if you are or will be eligible for federal help.
Think of other people in need and use it only one time. We all don’t know how bad this will all be and how long it takes.

It is very personal and I am in desperate need for pills too. I’ve moved to USA from Europe few years ago because of “The Love of my Life”. Back then I was young and healthy and constantly traveling and had a pretty comfortable life.
After I got married and applied for my green card I wasn’t allowed to work and to leave the country for almost a year. This was quite a shock, what to do and how to live for a year considering the fact that in Germany all the immigration paperwork would be done in about 30 days.
So the first shocking reality for me was that I came to the country of free and to the richest country in the world and I became as poor and as un-free as wouldn’t ever imagine before. It kind of really hit me how fast it can go from living a comfortable life to struggle. This is something I didn’t know before and I was to more than 30 countries in my life.
The next shocking fact for me was, how many people in United States have 2 or more jobs and how many people work full time and never had a health insurance.
Before I moved here I didn’t know that such things like out of pocket costs or deductibles or that insurance company is not covering something, even exist.
But the number one good thing I realized in this country was the people, how easy going and friendly and helpful people are. Also how beautiful the country is and how impressive the nature and so many places to see.
After a while in USA I was working for a hotel in Chicago. Trying to become a real hard worker like Americans do – no vacation for ever, working multiple shifts, one day at 7am, the other day starting 6pm, two days later 3am and sometimes 2 or 3 weeks with no day off. But I had fun because I was meeting people from all over the world again.
And then it hits me again. In May 2019 I’ve been diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. And my work hours changing every day and every week made it all worse. I was always a pretty slim guy but being 5’7” and about 130 pounds, I have lost 25 pounds just in June. In July I was not able to leave home and go to work anymore and landed on unpaid sick leave for many weeks.
Then the rescue in form of Viberzi pills came. My insurance covered it and it was only $30 a month, 2 pills a day and other over the counter pills 5 times a day. Without insurance about $1860 a month – nobody in Europe believes me that. Lol
After the pills were not working that great again with my crazy work hours I decided few months ago to change my job just to have regular work hours
I am a little better now. Dining out still doesn’t exist for me and before work or during work I am only eating plane oat meal. But at least I am able to work and leave home. For how long …. who knows. When you don’t tolerate any food your immune system is close to zero so I am at very high risk right now to get any infection.
I am able to pay my expensive pills now, but I guess it will not last very long. And I am afraid there are many people like me and even more people with much worse situation. If I don’t make it till the end of the year I want to have done something for somebody and not only me or my friends or my family.
